DHL has been handling complex, time-critical, international motorsports logistics for over 35 years. As the Official Logistics Partner of Formula 1 since 2004, DHL now transports up to 2,000 tons of valuable and time-sensitive freight to the racing locations each year. This precious cargo includes racing cars, tyres and transmission technology.
The 2018 season will include 21 Grands Prix on five continents, including the return of the French Grand Prix after a 10-year hiatus and the addition of the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim. 10 of the Grands Prix are classed as fly-away races and there is an increase in back-to-back weeks for 2018 with races on three consecutive weekends for the first time.
For DHL, a Grand Prix typically starts weeks prior to a race as they work with the teams and F1 Cargo to prepare and ship ocean and air freight. A member of DHL’s team of international logistics specialists will accompany the freight on its journey to ensure a smooth transition through Customs and delivery to the track. With that in mind, we’re already planning ahead for July, when Formula 1 arrives in the UK.
To celebrate the occasion, we’re giving you the chance to win a pair of Grandstand tickets to the FORMULA 1 2018 ROLEX BRITISH GRAND PRIX at the legendary Silverstone on Sunday 8 July 2018. Steeped with history Silverstone became adopted by the Royal Automobile Club as the home for the British Grand Prix in 1948 and is the ultimate destination for British motorsports.
