We booked,through the centralised system, an overnight to zurich from the UK, on collection day we wre running a little late so we asked to put the collection back an hour or so At 5.30pm, the parcel still sitting in my office, I called the depot direct to check, it had been missed, we panicked The consignment carried 28 hand made gifts for the UBS banks deal dinner on the very evening of the delivery date, guests were flying in from all over Europe and beyond, we moved mountains and the client paid a premium to get the gifts produced on time, we knew it would be tight, the overnight was the only option At 6pm the manager Alan Griffiths was informed of the missed pick up, the importance of the consignment and the timing. He snapped into action, at 7.00 pm he was waiting personally for me at a motorway service station a 30 minumte drive and mid way point for each of us, from there he was driving to the trunker Its the kind of action and dedication that gets you noticed in the business world, as a model making studio in the high end custom gift business, were always working to crazy deadlines and over-nighting for important events usually the blue chips, every one in our chain is on board with our philosophy and so is Alan and DHL Were opeing an accout today, were very impressed, the original pick up they missed, yes, BUT they put it right, every one makes mistakes, its the ones who will do everything they can to retrieve the situation while there is time, its that empathy, thats what we want from our courier !! Our thanks to Alan and his team from code3models, podium design and UBS, merry Christmas and a happy new year By the way Alan called the next moring to say the client had signed for the parcel at 10.05 am thats fast Tony Graham code3models

I had an issue with Argentinian customs that in all fairness was probably my fault and customs fault, but it meant the package was almost not delivered duty to outrageous charges. Phil stepped in and sorted everything out and smoothed over customs (and me). My package was delivered and all was good in the World thank you Phil!!

In most cases I would say an early delivery is convenient. However this time I was notified a few hours before my parcel would be delivered (a day early!). I cancelled the delivery for that day and has booked a re-delivery for the following day. Although, when I got home there was a slip from DHL saying they had tried to deliver, but no one had been in to sign for it. So I called up their nearby office, left a couple of messages as they were very busy. The next day I called around 11:00 to see if the driver had already left. He had, and wouldn't be around for at least a few more hours. Roll on to 17:20 (10 minutes before your working hours are over) and I was promised it would be delivered that evening sometime before 19:00 as the driver was understandably very busy. It wasn't the drivers fault at all. When I got through to customer services, on the phone, they were very helpful and contacted the driver to see what his estimated time of arrival would be. In summary, next time I will be picking up my parcel from the DHL collection point, rather than booking a re-delivery and not being able to leave the house all day.
