DHL failed to deliver our parcel but sent us a nice photo of a house which unfortunately was a photo of a house just around the corner from us. When we rang and pointed this out they refused to deliver our parcel that day even though their depot was only two miles away.They delivered the next day no apology. We suggested to the large sending company that they find a different distrbutor!

No card was left so I was unaware that there had been a failed delivery. The company emailed to ask opinion on the goods which should have been received. I told them I wasn't in receipt of them and they gave me dispatch details, after following up it was stated that the parcel was at the DHL service drop off point which in this instance was WH Smith in Weymouth. Luckily before I went to collect as there is no place to park near the store and the car park fees are 70p for 30mins I just wanted to ensure it wouldn't be a wasted journey. I rang the store and was told that they had had no notification that they were now a DHL service point until a delivery driver turned up and left parcels for collection!!!! So it was all new to them but they couldn't see any trace of my parcel so they forwarded me a DHL phone number. I rang and got transferred to another department who notified me that the parcel was being handled by AN POST and gave me a phone number for them which I rand to find it wasn't recognised. To be fair I checked the website and the phone number was the same. So I then contacted the company that the goods were from and they have marked it down as being lost and have offered a refund or a resending of goods, I have chosen the latter and have hopes of receiving them soon as they were dispatched today!

Should be ZERO star rating for NO business - over more than 8 and a half hours and after speaking peronally to 5 DHL staff in phone calls in Australia and UK plus emails - no one at DHL has given me a quote though I was told by UK staff that they respond to inquires within 4 hours.

Helpful and friendly staff in the Belgrove Street office in London gave me all the information I needed to make a decision on what sized box to send back to Australia. The same afternoon we processed that parcel and made the late afternoon pick-up. To our great surprise we received word from Australia that the box had arrived only two days later, even though there was no particular hurry for it to be there (excess clothing from our trip). Great work DHL. Excellent service from staff in the front office and the logisitics to get a parcel delivered in absolutely minimum time. i'd happily recommend DHL and this office in particular to anyone wanting to shift parcels from one side of the world to the other.

Sam has looked after us for a long time now, and we would like to express our thanks and appreciation on how polite, attentive and helpful he is. Sam has helped us out more than once with processing collections and deliveries between our Exeter and our Plymouth Branch when we have urgent transfers. He is always so pleasant, happy and polite when he comes in store. Thank you so much for everything you do for us here in Exeter to help make our business run as smoothly and as punctual as possible.

Paid £50 for delivery of an iPad pro, not including insurance, pickup driver failed to give tracking number/waybill and put delivery address on parcel, left it in the back of his van over the weekend. Made a formal complaint about the driver. Phoned up to rectify this, told they would sort this and deliver the next day, and this is an important parcel so I didn't leave the house all day. Didn't come. Phoned up again and they finally announced they had lost it. at least i had it insured. 0/10 would never use again.

Struggle with final mile and rural locations

Pricing for the service offering was good and experience at origin from drop-off at the service point to initial tracking and updates was good. Once the package arrived at destination it began to struggle. The package arrived on Tuesday and was on hold by 12:32 (local). It then spent the whole of Wednesday on hold before contact with the delivery point was made on Thursday to resolve additional information required for the delivery. The shipment then failed to deliver again on Friday and sat in the local hub over the weekend. The delivery was finally made on the Monday. This brought the lead time to just short of 7 days which for courier is a lot. I have had good experiences with the DHL Express service before so I do believe that issues are in relation to rural locations or non-standard delivery points where the final mile can be more challenging. I have also heard of similar story's from other service users. As the rest of DHL Express' service is generally good I hope that more investment is made into "acting local" when it comes to delivery to reduce failure rates, negative satisfaction ratings and wasted resources.
