Large parcel weight & dimensions guide per sending method

Choose from three delivery options. If you would like to book a parcel collection, this can be done through our online DHLitNow service or by speaking to Customer Service. Alternatively, if you would prefer to drop off your parcel, you can use a DHL Service Point location. Simply complete your parcel details online, then pack your items into our free packaging provided and pay to send your parcel when in store.

Large parcel quotes and prices

Get a large parcel quote to compare prices between our three sending methods and choose the best option for you. Call DHL Customer Service to get a quote for parcels that exceed maximum weight AND/OR maximum dimensions:

When booking a collection online via DHLitNow
Complete the shipping details online (DHLitNow). Print your labels and prepare your Customs invoice (if you’re sending internationally). Wait for the DHL courier to collect your parcel at the timeslot you selected in your booking.

When dropping off at a DHL Service Point location
DHL’s fast and reliable worldwide parcel delivery service is available at selected Ryman, Safestore, WHSmith and Robert Dyas stores, as well as 100s of independent stores nationwide. Find your nearest DHL Service Point with over 1,300 locations nationwide. You can complete your parcel details online to save time in store. Once you’re in store just pick your free DHL box and pay for your delivery. Prices depend on the size of the box that you chose and the zone you’re sending it to.

When booking a collection by phone
Call DHL Customer Service on 0844 248 0828* if you have a large or heavy parcel to send safely and securely. Arrange a suitable time for the courier to collect your parcel. *Calls to DHL UK phone numbers beginning ‘084’ cost 7 pence per minute, plus your phone company’s access charge.

If your parcel's weight exceeds 70kg AND/OR if your parcel's dimensions exceed 120 x 80 x 80cm then make a DHL collection booking by phone. DHL Customer Service will book your heavy and large items.

If your parcel's weight does not exceed 70kg AND the packaging dimensions do not exceed 120 x 80 x 80cm then book a DHL courier collection online via DHLitNow (max 10 parcels) or with DHL by phone.

If your parcel's weight does not exceed 25kg AND the required packaging dimensions do not exceed 48 x 40 x 39cm then you can drop off your parcel at a DHL Service Point location near you where free packaging will be provided in store.

At DHL we take great care in delivering your parcels with speed and care. However, it's important to pack your parcels with the proper materials and care to ensure they can withstand the normal rigours of road and aircraft transportation.

To help ensure your parcel arrives safely:

•   Consider the weight, cost, regulations, and fragility of the contents.
•   Choose your packaging based on its material, strength, and size, and pack your goods securely.
•   Seal your parcel correctly and display your labels clearly.
